(Not So) Sleepless in Seattle

I guess my first few weeks of blogging have been less than 'exciting' and our lives are appearing less than adventerous seeing that I'm logging a whole one blog per month... but hopefully our lives will get more interesting....
Travis and I spent New Years in Whitefish.  I love Whitefish and I love Big Mountain but for some reason this year, Mother Nature decided she would freeze our 'balls' off with -30 degree weather.  Don't get us wrong, we both love to snowboard, but when Travis came down a run and half his nose was pink and the other was white, we decided it was too cold to be out. We spent New Years Eve at the Northern and everyone made it home safely and with all their respective clothes on (translation: Travis didn't drink too much)
Travis then headed back to Saskatchewan for work and I came out to Seattle.    I decided to do a 2 week externship in Cardiology - mainly because we don't have a cardiologist at W.C.V.M. My first week has been really good - I am learning alot (which is good because I feel like I know nothing!)  They also only work 4 days a week (a practice I think I'm going to adopt at a future clinic).  Therefore, I got to go to downtown Seattle and check out Pike Place Market, the water, eat clam chowder and get soaked by the never ending rain. I think I've decided I like the rain though.  Better than -30 because at least I can go for a run.
So that has been my New Year so far.  I'm going to miss this rotation, however, sight seeing by yourself is less than fantastic so I'll be happy to get home to my two besties at the end of the week.
